Welcome to Blue Heron Glass
Fun With Fusing
Join glass artist and long time Blue Heron staff member Tricia on Wednesday afternoons from 2-4 for a quick romp into kiln-worked glass. Make a pair of night lights, diamond shaped window ornaments, funky-towns, or a small 5 x 7 inch panel with supplied materials and Tricia’s expert guidance. The cost is $30–40, depending on the project. Mix and match, it’s a great way to spend the afternoon and get a jump on Mother’s Day. This is a limited time offer, so give us a call and reserve your spot.
Located in historic Charleston, South Carolina, Blue Heron Glass is coastal Carolina’s largest supplier of sheet glass and tools for the glass hobbyist. Our extensive and ever-changing selection of Spectrum, Bullseye, Wissmach, Kokomo, Youghiogheny, Uroboros as well as other glasses are sure to challenge even the most discriminating pallet.
In the gallery you can find works from owner Mike Hiester’s continuing odyssey with kiln-formed glass as well as selections from other artists of the low-country. Filling the windows is a collection of leaded panels and glass in the traditional copper foil technique, from contemporary patterns, interpreted and constructed by Mike’s daughter, Becca and Blue Heron Glass artist and employee Amanda.
Commissions for home, office, or place of worship are welcome. We will work with you through the process of design, fabrication, and installation.
We also offer classes in basic techniques, as well as occasional workshops using more advanced procedures. Blue Heron Glass is your one stop to immerse yourself in the world of art glass and indulge your imagination.
We gladly accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards. Please note, there is a $15 minimum purchase with debit and credit cards.
